An act to amend an act to provide for the registry of votes, <Sv., in the
city of Augusta, approved Feb. 1-th, 1856,* and tb extend the powers
oj'the Recorder of said city, in relation to free negroes; and.jbr other
purposes.
1. SEc. I. The General Assembly oj'Georgia do enact, That the list for
the registration of voters shall be kept open until the first Monday nsmgtimou
in April, at two o'clock of said day, P. M., instead of the fourthi'ndl ni'n
Monday in March, as now required; and all persons shall be euti-
tled to register, who, under thc laws of this State and said city,whom,
would be entitled to a vote on the second Monday in April, it beingr'
the election day.                      .
2. SEC. II. And be it farther enacted, That so much of said act or
the thirteenth section thereof, as requires the producing of a certi-,  at

swear as to his certificate of registry being delivered in person, befin delivered

3. SEC. III. And be it further enacted, That the city Council of o neln no

4. SEc. IV. And be it fjrther enacted, That the Recorder of said Prower of Re-

thorized to convey said free person of color, by bill of sale, to said
purchaser for the time for which he or she was sold ; and said bill of
sale shall be sufficient evidence of title to said negro, in all the
courts of this State, or elsewhere.
5. SEC. V. And be it further enacted, ThAt the city Treasurer is
hereby authorized to issue tax executions against all defaulting
