Obstruction of Public Roads, &c.
No. 470.
An Act to prevent and make penal the obstruction of any of the public
roads of Troup county, by persons engaged in horse racing.
APPROVED March 6th, 1856.
20. Section I. Be it enacted, &c., That from and after the pas-
sage of this act, if any person or persons should meet together for
Obstructionsthe purpose of horse racing, on any ofthe public roads of Troup
of roa~ds in
Troup Co. county. in this State, and shall obstruct the same to the free passage
or inconven ence of any transient person or persons such persons so
offending shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and indicted for the
same, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined and imprisoned in
the jail of said county, at the discretion of the Superior Court before
whom such person shall be tried.

An Act to alter and amend the Road Laws in the county of Morgan
APPROVED Eebruary 28th, 1856.
21- Section I. Be it enacted, &c., That from and immediately
after the passage of this act, all male slaves, and free persons of
RoaddutyinCOlor between the age of fburteen and fifty, residing in the county
Morgan, &cof Morgan, shall be subject to do road duty agreeable to the law
regulating the duty ofroad hands in this State.
22 Sec. II, Repeals conflicting laws.

An Act to exempt persons resident on Skidaway Iland from performing
road duty on the main land.
APPRovED March 5th, 1S56.
23 Section I. Be it enacted, &c., That the persons liable to road
of rosidents(utv resident on Skidawav Island, in the county of Chatham, shall
Ifskddway not be required to perform the same on the main land.
24 Sec. II, Repeals conflicting laws.

An act to extend to the county of Webster, the provisions ofan act entitled
an act to amend the road law of this State, so far as relates to the
counties of Wilkes, Laurens, Lincoln, Columbia and Twiggs, approvedf
Feb. 20th, 1854.
APPROVED March 6th, 1856.
25 Section 1, The General Assembly of the State of Georgia do
