An Act to repeal an Act entitled an Act to extend the Civil juris-
diction of the Justices of the Peace in the City qf &vannah, and
to conpel Justices of tMe Peace and Constables of country Dis-
tricts in the County of Chatham to be residents of the Districts
of which they are elected, assented to the 21st day of December,
1835, so far as the Civil Jurisdiction of the Justices of the
Peace for the First, Second, Third and Fourth Districts Georgia
A'ilitia, in the City of Savannah are concerned; and to estab-
lish rates of 'fees qf Jfagistrates and Constables in the City qf Sa-
vannah.
SLCTION I. Beit enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the State of Georgia in General Assembly met, and it
is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and
after the passage of this Act, the first Section of an Act entitled an Act or ia
Act to extend the civil jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace for the repeated.
City of Savannah; and to compel Justices of the Peace and Coii-
stables of the county districts n the County of Chatham to be res-
idents of the districts for which they are elected, assented to the
21st (lay of December, 1835, the several Acts now of force regula-
ting the fees of Magistrates and Constables in the State of Georgia,
so far as relates to the County of Chatham, be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SEC- Il. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid,
That the Justices of the Peace, elected in I and I for thle first, see-
)nd, third and fourth districts Georgia Militia, comprising the city Justies
of Savannah, be and they are hereby limited in their civifjirisdic- usesr e.
tion to the district for which they have respectively been elected rc
and commissioned ; and they are hereby required to hold their
Courts, and keep their offices within the limits of the districts for
which they have been respectively elected.
SEC. Ill. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid,
That the fees of Magistrates and Constables in Civil, Criinal and
Cases of Misdemeanor shall be as follows, viz:
JUSTICES' OF THE PEACE, FEES IN CIVIL CASIe.
For issuing Bail Process and copy,-$1 25
For every summone, writ, aflidavit, execution and bond,
For each copy of either of the above,. ..31
For a certificate of chlier of the above,  -  -
For every ti. fa. or, ca. sn.,  -62
For every cause, tried by it Magistrate, ur Jury,                62.
For entering up judgenent by default, .  . .1
For every Subpena for witness,  -   -16
