AN ACT aiendaitory of the Generl Road Laws of this Stute, so
fur as relates to the county of Baldwin. Approved, January
2-2, 1852.        ,
SrcIoN 1. Be it enacted by the &nate and Jfouse
coroot  of Rcpresentatires of the State of Georgia in General
win ct Yt.0AJ1Unly met, anl il iv hereby onacte( by the authority of
G11'i  the    one, That from and after the passage of this Act, the
entire direction, control and Supervision of the public and
other roads, in the county of Baldwin, be and the same is
hereby vested exclusively in the Inferior CouIt of Baldwin
county, with fill power to levy taxes for the repair and
improvement of the public roads of said county, or to
adopt such other mode or means therefor, and under
such regulations as they may    maho in relation there-
to, as also to authorize by them, the appointment of Con-
missioners of Roads, and Superintendents of Roads, for a
term not exceeding two years.
Six. II. And be it hrther enacted by the authority
mn a race-aforesaid, That for the purpose of the public roads being
;iun. 01. kept in good order, the said Justices shall first declare, by
an order on their minutes, what roads are public market
roads, and fromt the returns of white male persons and
inale free negroes, and male slaves liable to work on roads,
under the provisions of this Act, made to thuem by the
Superintendents of Roads, the said Court shall, with the
assistance of the Commissioners of Roads, it' in attend-
ance, proceed to allot and assign all persons, free or slavo,
to some particular road or roads, which allotment shall
