or regulation that shall appear to them necessary for the
security, welfare, or convenience of said town, or for pre-
serving order and good government within. the same; and
they are also hcreby authorized to allow such town officers
as they may appoint. suich fees and compensation as may
be by existing laws of this State allowed to Constables and
Justices of the Peace, in similar cases; Provided, Such
by-laws, rules and ordinances, be not repugnant to the
Constitution and Laws of this State, or the Constitution of
the United States.
SEC. III. And be it further enacted, That the Commis-worman so
sioners of said town shall have the entire control of all thoe s..
citizens and hands who actually reside within the limits of
the iRcorporation, that are liable to work on roads, for the
express purpose of kecping all the streets of said town in
good order, and that the citizens and hands aforesaid shall
not be liable to work upon the district roads.
Sicc. 1V. And be it turther onacted, That the corporateco orms.
limits of the town of Forsyth, in the county of Monroe, be etj'^ff.
and is hereby extended four hundred yards in every direc-
tion, from the present corporate boundaries, and that the
Commissioners of the town of Forsyth shall have power torement of
pay the Marshal of said town whatever, in their discretion, Mamt.dl
may be necessar'y to plrocoll  the services of a l)roper offi-
cor; Provided, That nothing herein contained shall au-
thorize the Commissioners of said town to assess a tax on
the promiuises or property of John Pinckard.
SEa. V. That all laws and parts of laws militating against nepenaling
this Act, be and the same are hereby repealed.
