Commissionors shall, on entering into office, take the fol-oh orn.
lowing oath: You, as Intendant (or Commissioners, as the       .
case may be) of the town of Greenville, shall well, truly ***.
and impartially, enforce the laws and ordinances of said
town, and in all respects demean yourself as you shall
deem best for the good of said town--So help you God.
Sc. VI. Be it further enacted, That all laws and parts Repeanai

the proprietors of the city of Brunswick, in the county of Glynn,
and to give them corporate powers, and to confer certain pow.
ers upon the Mayor and Council of the city of Columbus, and
to amend the seventh section of an Act amendatory of the sev.
eral Acts incorporating the town of Milledgeville, assented to
the 30th of December, 1836, and to confer certain powers upon
the Mayor and Aldermen of the city of Milledgeville. Ap-
proved, January 22, 1852.
SEcTION I. Be it enacted by the Senate and Moume of
Representatives of the State of Georgia in General As8em-.  o s.
bly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority Of olporttd.
the same, That from and after the passage of this Act, the
town of Jefferson, in Jackson county, be and the same is
hereby incorporated, and that the corporate limits of said
town shall extend to Curry's creek on the East, and seven
hundred yards from the Court-house in every other direction;
and that Giles Mitchell, John J. Little, Joel W. Garrett,
Samuel Watson, and William S. Thompson, be and they
are hereby appointed Commissioners of said town, who
shall hold their term of office until the second Saturday in
January, eighteen hundred and fifty-three, and until their
successors are elected and installed in office.
SEC. II. And be it further enacted by the authority afore-
said, That on the second Saturday in January in each lcinot
year, all the citizens residing within the corporate limits e.
of said-town, who shall be entitled to vote for members of
the Legislature of this State, shall be entitled to vote for
five Commissioners, at which election any two freeholdera
