handle is hein.slavery/ssactsga0326 and id is 1 raw text is: 12 Hawkinsville to the city of Macon, and it being proper that the present location should be indicated by the name- therefore- Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represnta- tives oy the State of Gcowgia, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passage of this act, the namo and style of the Bank of Hawkinsvillo may be changed to the Merchants Bank of M\acon, and by that name and style be entitled to all the rights and privileges and be subject to all the penalties and liabilities to which they are now entitled or subject to, under their present name-Provided, that nothing in this act shall relieve said Bank from any forfeiture heretofore in- curred, and that said Merchants Bank of aIncon shall con- tinue liable for the exi ting liabilities of said Bank of Haw- kinsvilic. Sec. 2. And be it /hrther enacted, <je. That all laws and parts of laws militating against the same, be and are hereby repealed. Assented to, December 15th,. 1843. AN ACT to extend the Charter of the Marine and Fire In- surance Bank of the State of Georgia, and to continue the rights granted by existing acts to the said Bank. SEc. 1. Be it enacted by the hStnate and Ilousc of Representa- tatires of the State of Georg,ia, and it is herchy enacted by the authority of the same, That the Charter of the Marine and Fire Insurance Bank of the State of Georgia, is hereby prolong- ed and extended for, and to the end of twenty years from the day before the expiration of its prcsent charter. Sec. 2. All and every the act and acts of the General As- sembly of this State, relating to the said the Marine and Fire Insurance Bank of the State of Georgia, are hereby continued and declared to be in force for and during the said extended charter. Assented to, 9th December, 1843.
