It appears from the report of the inspectors that the sum
appropriated last year for constructing the cell buildings
has proved insufficient; therefore a further appropriation or
that purpose will be necessary. In conclusion, your com-
mittee would- respectfully recommend the adoption of the
following resolution:--
Resolved, That the sum of seven thousand five hundred
dollars be placed in the appropriation act of the present
session for the purpose of completing the new cell building,
and for altering and enlarging the work-shops; and the
sum of seven hundred dollars be likewise placed in the ap-
propriation act for procuring a stock of wagon and carriage
timber for the institution.
