The Joint Committce on Banks, to whom was referred the
Report of the Marine and Fire Insurance Bank-Report,
That they have given to the said Report that careful at-
tention that its importance scons to nake necessary, (as con-
nected with the monied concerns of the State,) they ore gra-
tified to learn that the said Report exhibits such evidence of
the ability of the Bank to meet its ongagements and liabilities
of every charactor. They however fel hound to remark,
that the State owns no stock in this Bank ; they however
know that the Bills of tie Bank have an extensive circula-
tion, and that the public interest is intimately connected with
the soundness of the Biani to meet its engagements-They
therefore take pleasure in stating that it appears from the
Report of the Bank that its allhirs are managed with ability,
and that it must he gratifying to the public to learn that the
situation of tihe Bank enahle3 the Dircctors to exhibit such
satisfhctory evidence of the sound state of the aflhirs of said
Bank, and of its prdent manalenent, as connected with the
public interest.

'he Coilummittee on Agrkiet::c and Internal Improvement,
to whon was referred the Rnort of the commissioners for
the navigation of the Goonwe river, have had the same un-
tier considered, and be leave to make the following Re-
port, viz
That from the Report oC the aforesaid commissioners, it
appears that they had on hand on the 31st day of October,
1828, in cash, two thousw!iI fifty-six dollars and twenty
cents-In imtes them due t~ctu, nine thousand thre hundred
amnd twenty dollars. That since that time they have re-
ceived for negro hire frin M:-Ars. Calhoun & Fort, and P.
