-AN ACT more effectually to enforce the provisions of
4 the statute of 1826, so far as the same regards the ar-
rival of' persons of color in the several ports mid waters
of this state.
Be it enact(d by tho seniat ( and house of 'W(pr's'ntatives
of the slat of G oigia in G'nral Ass nby in. t, and it is
hereby nacmed by the iuthority of t/e same, th'liat whenever
any vessel shall arrive in any of the po.is or waters of this
state, it shall be the duty of the master or captain thereof,
to repair within twenty four hours after the arrival afore-
said, to the nearest city or town, alnt make a report to the
Maoir, Intendant,. or other chit'f magistrate thereof, of
anly colored porsons on hoard of his said vessel, antd give
bonid agreeably to tlie provisions of the lifth section of the
act passed the twentieth day of' December, eighteen hun-
dred anl twenty six, under the peialty of' one hiuindred
dollars, for crer'y such peIrson. omnitted to he SO reported and
bmled.
Sec. 2. Be it f'urther enne'ed, That the siid veinalty
shall he sued for and recovered in the same manner as is
prescihed in the sixth section of the said act, passed on
the twentieth day of DI.cember, eighteen himidted and
twenty-six, afoesaid, entitled '' An act to a mend an act,
entitled an at suppleintary to an net mIore flectually to
enfone an act entitled an aCt, prescribingi. the mode of
maiiauitting slaves in this state ; anld also to prielt tle
inveialing and illegal carrying out of' the state persons of
color.))
