iannah, and in the towns of Milledgeville and Macon.
Sec. 2. And he it furiher enacted by 'lie authority aforesaid, That
'the town common shall, by the said commissioners, be laid out and
plainly marked, so as to etlarge the same to the width of half a mile
ion the north west and south west of the bounda-Y of the town plat4
Sec, . And be it further enacted by the authoriy qforesaid, That
the said commissioners are herety directed wi'hin three months from
the date of this act, to admeasure by metes and bounds, twenty lots
adjoining the common on the north west and south west sides of said
town, each to be equal in extent, and located in a range with the
squares of said town, so as not to intercept the streets leading out
from said town, and the said lotq when so laid out, shall be by the
said cnmmnissioners exposed to public sale, at the same time and in
the same manner as aforesaid in respect to the lots mentioned in the
(rht section of this act.

AN ACT to preserve the timber in the vicinity of the town of Ma.
con, for the preservation of the health of the inhabitants thereof.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representdtives of
Me State of Georgia in General Assembly met, and it is hereby
enacted by the authority of the same, That for the purpose of
preserving the standing iunber inmediately below te iipomed part
of the town of Macon, for the preservation of' the health of the in.
habitants of said to'n, all the land within the town plat below
Seventh street, together with aspace of six hundred yards below and
a space three hundred yards on the south western or outer side there-
of, is hereby vested in the corporate authority of said loD for the
time being: Provided, that if Ihe said corporate authority shall sell,
lease, or in any -.aiy alien or incumber the said land, or any part
thereof, or shallnifer the same in any manner, or for any purpose to
be inhabited, the land, or portions of land so aliened, incombered, or
inbabited, shall thenceforwaid revert in the State: And Provided
also, that nothing iq this act contained, shall prevent the State from
resuming the said land, if in the ePjinion of apy future legislature th4
public good should require such resumption.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any person shall cut
down, or kill, or shall direct or cause to bp'put down, or killed1 anv
