Sic. 11. d be it further enacted, That the town shall com-
prciend within its limits ill persons residing within the hounda-
ries of the square or lot ofland upon which the public buiil(lings
of the county are situated, and that no person shall be elected a
commissioner or an officer of said town wvho shall notreside with-
in those limits.
Suc. 12. And be it further enacted by the authority qforesaid#
That n laws or parts of laws militating against this act, be and
the samc tire hereby repealed.

AN ACT
Entitled act to nuiend and consolidate the several nets which have
been passed in relation to the powers and privileges of the cor-
poration of the city of Savannah and the hamlets thereof, and
for the purposes hercia mentioned.
Whereas, tihe various acts of the legislature passed in relation
to the incorporated and chartered rights of the city of Savannnah
and the hamlets thereof' are subject to much ditt'erence of opinionA
thereby occasioning mouch embarrasiment, and requiring frequent
appeals to legislative interference in relation to concerns purely
taunicipal and I'cal:-
Be it therefore enacted by the Senate and Hmse of Representa,
Sives of the State of Georoia in General Asseimbly met, and it i's
hereby enacted by the autlority of the same, That from and after
the passage of this act the jurisdictional limits of the city of
Savannai and tihe hamlets thereof shall be extended to one mile
beyond the present boundary, so .ts to enable the mayor and
(Ilr1ermem for the time being to pass an ordinance or ordinances
