IN StENATE, Nov. 15, 1824.
The joint committee on internal improvement, to whom
was referred the correspondence of the Governor with
the President of the United States, in which he requests
that Georgia may participate with other states in the ad-
vantages of the act of the 30th April last, authorising the
President to procure the necessary surveys, plans and
estimates for roads and canals, Report:
That they have had the same under consideration, and
although they believe that little or no benefit will accrue to
this state from the appropriation made for the purpose of
carrying the said act into etTect, yet as a further appropri-
ation may he made at the next session of Congress for the
same purpose, they would recommend that the Governor
continue to press the claims of this state, should a further
appropriation be made.

Resolvpd, That his excellency the Governor be request-
ed, after the first (lay of June next, to send some compe-
tent mathematician to examine the first district of Dooly,
and report whether the same has been surveyed according
to law, and if it is found not to be surveyed, his excellency
is hereby requested to haveit surveyed, giving to Murdti0k
McCloud, the district surveyor, ninety days notice of such
examination.
