AN ACT
To alter and amend the fourth section of an act, passed the 19tli of'
iecember,, 181, to prevent the circulation of notes emitted by
tiichartered banks, and the issuing of due bills of certain des-
criptions, and to compel the chartered banks of this state to re-
sume specie payments whenever Me bailk of the United States,
and the banks of the adjacent states shall counence specie pay-
ments; ,and also to require of them to redeem their notes under
five dollars, ivith specie or change bills,' issued by some. one of
the chartered banks.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of RepresenfaVves
ofthe SLtate of Georgia, in General Asemblyi met, and it is here-
by enacted by the athority of the same,That so much of the fourth'
section of the above recited act as may be construed to give a right
to the bank of the United States, to recover twenty-five per cent.
per anuin, upon any amount of bills of the State B3anks held by
the United States Bank in case of refusal on the part of the State
.Banks to pay pecie for the same be, and the same is hereby re-
pealed.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of lihpresentatives of
*the Stale (f Georgia in General .isembly met, and it is hereby e-
nacted by the authority qf the same, That Morgan Brown, Shad-
rich Perry, George Kelly, Charles.Williamson, and William Riol-
lings he, and they are hereby appointed commissioners of said
town, and any three of said coinmissioners shall constitute a board,
who shall have full power to proceed to.the business of said incor-
poration; and they and .their successors in ollice shall have full
pow%'er and authority to pass all bye laws and regilations which
may be necessary for the inproencut and repairing the streets,
