S2. .&nd be itfuriter enacted, That the keepers of such jail shall
andJ ( hey are hereby authorizedand required to receive into their
care and custody, any person.or .rsons delivered to-thent, in con-
formitr to the pi-eceding section, and him or them safely, keep.un-
til they are delivered from thence according to law, or by direction
or request of the plaintiff, his agent or attorney. Proyided-that the
plaintiff, his agent or attorney shall give bond with sufillcient secu-
rity to the keeper of such jail, for the jail fees and weekly main-
tenance of the person or personsso delivered to hini for safe keep-.

Be it enacted by the Senate atnd House of Representatives
of the State of Georgia, in General .1ssenbly met, and it is here-
by ehacted iy the autihority of the same, That the commissioners of
the town of Marion shall. Lave power and authority to pass.such.
bye laws and regulatious they may.deem necessary, for hipo-
sing And collecting a poll tax upon the citizens of said town: Pro-
vided, that, such poll shall not exceed one dollar oin each and every
person liale by law to pay a poll tax: and also the sum of twelve
nud a half cents on every hundred doliars worth of propprty, sub-
ject to taxation by the tax laws of this state for 1ie term of one
y'car.-
§ ?. .qnd be it further enacted, That the said cominissioners
shall have power to. pass such laws as they may deem necessary,
to require and direct the citizEns of said town to make a retuni up-
oniath to sublh officer as may be-hy them appointed, to receive tihe
amount of taxable property by each of them, owned-or held in.salit
townui, andn. case any citizen shall refuse to 'make suich return
-when called on for that purpose by the proper officer, then and in
that cise such defaulter shall be liable to pay such tax asmb iiity be,
