AN ACT
'fo incorporate the town of Danielsville, in the c9unty of
.Aladson.
B3   E enacted by the Senate and House of Rpresenta.
tives of the State of Georgia, in General Assembly met,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That
James Long, Willis Towns and Joseph Vincen, Esq'rs
shall be Commissioners of said town, and that they and
their successors in office, shall have full power an(d au.
thority to pass all bye-laws and regulations which may be
necessary for improving and repairing the public square,
streets and springs of said town, and the promotion of
public good; Provided, that such bye.laws and regulations
siall not be repugnant to the Constitution and] laws of thiis
State, and that no penalty thereby imposed, shall extend
to corporal punishment (except on slaves or persons of
color)-and provided also, that said Commissioners shall
not impose any poll tax upon the citizens of said town,
,V'hich shall exceed one dollar within the term of one
year.
§ 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Com.
3nissioners shall continue in office until the first Monday
in January eighteen hundred and nineteen, on which day,
and on the first Monday in overy January thereafter, all
the free male white citizens of said town, who shall be
entitled to vote for members of the General Assembly,
shall assemble at the court house of said county, and by
iballot, elect three Comumissioners, who shall continue in
