AN ACT,
To amend the several road laws now in force in this
state, so far as respects the counties of Clarke, Frank-
lin, Elbert, Tatnall and Wilkinson, and to authorise
the Justices of the Inferior courts and courts of Ordi-
nary to hear and deterine upon all matters which may
come before them, relative to roads and bridges.
E it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen-
tatives of the State of Georgia in General.11ssembly met,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same,
That from and after the first day of February next, it
shall be the duty of tle Justices of the Peace of tihe coun-
ties of Clarke, Franklin, Elbert, Tatnall and Wilkin-
son, to appoint one or more Overseers of roads in their
respective districts, as the extent or number of the roads
may require, and to apportion the hands between the
several Overseers ; and where any road shall be a dis-
trict line, that then, and in that case, it shall be the duty
of the Justices in each of the adjoining districts, to co.
