AN ACT
To establish and make permanent East street in the town
of Washington; in the county of Wilkes.
51. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre.
sentatives ol' the Staht' Georgia in General .dseiembly
met, and it is hereby enactedby the authority .fthe saime,
That from and after the passage of this act, that the street
in the town of Washington in the county of ViikeF, cahed
and known by the pame of East street, he, and the same
is hereby established all( made permanent in its present
position, in lieu of the. original street of the same name in
tie said town of Washington and county of Wilkes, any
la w, ordinance, usage or custom to the contrary notwith,
staning.

That the 2d, 3(d and 4th sections of an act. more effectually
to open and keep in repair the public roads, causeways
and brid-e4 in this states passed the 16th December, 1811,
he amen1Vllded as follows:
BHe it enacted, 'I'iat all able bodied effective white male
inhabitants, mulattoes, free negroes & slaves from the age
of sixteen to lifty years, in the county aforesaid, shall be
oli-ed to attend( and work on the public roads, &e. as di.-
rected in said at ; and that all overseers appointed agree-
able to the 3d section of said acf,he, and they are hereby
authorised to exempt from labour one hand as a. warner,
