AN ACT
To amcnd an act to appoint Commission-
cr-s fr the better regulation     and go-
vernmenL of the town of Milledge.

2. 1. BE it cnacted by /he Senate iiid House of Re-
Iresentatives of the State of Grorgia in Gmeiral As-
sembly met, and by the authority yf the same, T rhat
all lot holders whether by purchase or lease for year
or years in the town of Milledgeville, who shall have
been resident therein for six mont's prior to the first
Monday in Januariy next, shall be entitled to vote
for Commissioners for said town.
?7 2. And be it firther enacted,  'That the town
of Milledgeville shall be divided into four wards in
the following manner, to wit ; The intersectioti of
Washington and Jefferson streets foriing the town
into four divisions shall constitute the finr vards,
which shall be known and designated as follows:
The north-western division shall be called and
known by Ward number one. (No. 1.)  The north-
eastern division by Ward number two (No. 2.)
The south-eastern division by Ward number three.
(No. 3.)  And the south-western division by Ward
number four. (No. 4..) And the electors of each
Ward shall imleet at some place within the bounds
thereof, herein after designated, on the first Monday
in January next, -and on the first Monday in Janu-
ary in every year thereafter, and then    and
there between thehours of ten o'clock in the fore-
noon & three o'cl6ck in the afternoon, proceed, by
ballot, to the election of one Commissioner for each
Ward. And when the Commissioners chosen as a-
fore said- shall have been duly qualified as by the act
to which this is amendatory, they shall meet at the
