AN          ACT
,o manumit a man of colour named Matt, and
certain other persons of colour therein Ienrv
tioned.
L'HEREAS William Terrell of the County of
V V Wilkes, has petitioned for the manumission and
xnaking free a certain man of colour of his own property.
Snc. 1.' BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of th State of Georgia, and by the authori-
is of the same, That 1MJatt a certain man of colour, the
property of William Terrell, be manumitted and made
free, and entitled to the privileges of other persons of
colour as are allowed by the Laws of this State, accord-
ing to the prayer of the petitioner; provided said Ter-
%ell gives bond and security to the Inferior Court of the
county aforesaid, for the good behaviour of said Matt,
ind to indemnify Ihe county against his becoming a pub-
lic charge.
Sr.c. 2. And be itfurtherenacted, That the following
persons of colour, to wit --Simon Manzo, late the pro-
perty of William Few, esq. formerly of the county of
Columbia, but now of the State of New.York ; Flora,
late the property of James Qunn, deceat d, Pricilla,
late the property bf joseph Miller, Tub, the property
qf Jonathan Lewis, and ,Susennah, commonly called
Susannah Jenkiris, late the property of
Jenkins, of Burl.e county, be and they are hereby de-
. lared to be manumitted and set free, with the same
$ghts which other persons of colour are entitled to un. 27
