State, (then Province) passed on the 10th
 day of May, 1770, and for establishing a
jurisdiction for the trial of oiTences commit-
ted by such slaves and other persons therein
mentioned, and to prevent the inveigling
and carrying away slaves from their masters,
owners or employers, and for repealing such
clauses of laws as milit'tes agedint the same,
