aided and assi-sted in eirculating this book il the Southern
States and ini lorida, l)y fuirnishing money and in other
respects aiding f1e circulation of the ame;, thereby at-
tempting to incite a revolt of slaves, which ofience,
although not committed in person by them, has been,
throlglh1 the a'-sistanee of the Fiited States mail, eonsin-
mated in Florida, so far as the delivery of the same is
concerned, )it the act, if done in this State, would, when
proven under indictment, resilt in a sentence of death,
it being a matter of doubt whether slch person or per-
