No. 23. AN ACT to chnngo the time of holding the County Court or Jackson
cot;uty.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative
Timech.nged. Council of tie Territory of Florida, That the fall term of the
county court of Jackson county, shall be held on tile first Mon-
day iii November, in each ycar.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That all laws and parts of
laws, conflicting with the provisions of this act, be, and the same
Repealingclause are hereby repealed,

No. 3I.-AN ACT for the relie of Mieajah Dean.
VIIrEu1As, at the extra term  of tile Superior Court, for tile
counties of Alachua, Iillsborough, and Columbia, held at
Newnansville, in August,1837, two negro slaves, named Toni
and Jack, were convictedi and executed lor the murder of Lew-
Preamble.     ellyn Gilliland, t'!e said ncgro slaves being the property of Mi-
cajab Deat, a citizent of Columbia county, therelbre, for the
relief of the Said M ica jah Dean,
Be it enac'ted hy the Goveriior aind Legislative Council of the
Amount paid.  I'erritory of Flioriia, That tie Territorial Treasurer is hereby
required to pay to Mica iah ])ean aforesaid, the sum of one
thousad dollars, out of ony monies not otherwise appropriated,
in full comipelnsation for said negro slaves.
Passed 6th February, 1838.-Approved 8th Feb. 1838.
No. 31. AN ACT, to Incorporate the Tropical Plant Company of Florida:
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative
incorporation. Council of the Territory ofFlorida, That Henry Perine, James
Webb, and Charles Howe, and such other persons as shall be-
come owners and holders of stock in said company, be, and
tiev'are hereby constituted and niadc a body corporate, by the
title of the Tropical Plant Comnpany of Florida.
Sec. 2. Be it flurther enacted, That the capital stock of the
said company shall be fifty thousand dollars to be divided into
one thousand shares of fifty dollars each, andi in case the Trus-
Capital Stonck tees shall hereafter find it expedient to increase the said capital,
ab ilicreac, they are hereby authorized to do so from time to time, to any
amount, not exceeding in the aggregate one hundred thousand
