Src. 1. Be it e:;acted by the Governor and Legislative Coun- Clerks& SnIl
cil of the Territory of Florida, That the Sheriffs and Clerks '.. . .
of Superior and County Courts ia the respective Counties, shall pointd putic
have tho power respectively or appointing a deputy or deputies,
for whose acts as such, they, the said Sheriffs and Clerks shall
be held liable.
SEc. 2. Be it further enacted, That all acts heretofore done Acts of forer
or performed by individuals purporting to be deputies, which depjtiesjcg4
would have been legal, if they had bean done or performed by ized.

hap. 745-No. 6. An act to establish a Tarif' of Fees.
Sac. 1. Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative Coun,
cil of the Territoiy of Florida, That the several officerq here-
inaftor named, shall be entitled to demand and receive the fol-
lowing fees respectively, viz
The Secretary of the Territory, shall receive, for every offli
cial certificate and seal, One Dollar. Recording and copy-
ing papers in his office, for the First One Hundred words,
'Twenty-Five cents : every subsequent Iundred words, Fifteen
cents.
The Surveyor of each Courty shall receive for his services,
such compensation as may from time to time be established by
the County Courts respectively.
The Clerk of the Court of Appeals, and Clerks of the Su-
perior and County Courts shall receive for entering appearance
of Defendant in person or by Attorney, Six and One-Fouith
cents.
Docketing any case upon the appearance Docket, Twelve and
it Half conts.
