lie notice of the timne and place and object of such meeting, said
noti'e to be given in any ne,.spnper printed in suid city or by
po.sting fhesatne in writing, tn two or more p ublie places thereib.
And the said council shall have pow.-r, to appropriate and ap.
ply to the use and support of said fiee school, tI in time to time,
nil interests or dividends which shall accrue from, or be mado
upon said bank stock, all rents and profits of lands or real
estate belonging to the said city, for which purpo.io the said
council shall be empowered to lease the sante iroin year to year;
Rnd all contributions of every description which may be made
in aid of said free school..
Sac. 18. Be it further enacted, That the act eutitled an
act to incorporate the City of St. Augustine appoved February
1 th 1831 be and thn same is hereby repealed ; but all laws or-
Rep. clause;  dinances and resolves in force at the repeal of said act, shaH
continue to be in force until altered, amended or repealed ; and
all fines penalties and forfeitures that have accrued under said
act may be roe vered in the same manner, is if the said act
hereby repealed was still in force.
S'c. 19. lie it further enacted, That this act shall have of-
A~ct and be in force lIrom the date of'its approval.

Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative council of the
preamble.  Tetritory of Florida, That all free white inhabitants of that
part of the county of Escambia, compri-hnded within the tol.
lowing boundaries, that is to say, bounded on the south and east,
by the harbour of Pens.1cola, on the west, by bayo, chico, on
'boundaries of the north, by a line drawn north and east, from G alvey spring,
city.      to where the said line will intersect the bayou tear, thence %ith.
the said bayou to Pensacola bay, shill be, and they are hereby
constituted a body politic, and corporate, by the name and style
of the city of Pensacola, and by their corporate name, may
sue and be sued, implead, and be impleaded, grant, receive and

real, personal, and mixed property, or dispose of the surne, for
the benefit of the said city, and may havo aud use a city sear
