racelvers, or shall knowingly make a false or improo
per return, he or she shall be fined in the sum of ten
dollars, to be recovered before any justice of the peace
of the county, one half to the use of the informer and
the other half to the use of the county.
. Sec. 7. Be it further enacted, That every receiver
shall be allowed as a compensation for taking the said
census in his county a sum, not less than one dollar
nor more than five dollars for every hundred inhabi.
tants, as may be prescribed by the county courts re-
spectively, to be paid out of the treasuries of the said
counties respectively.
And any receiver failing to comply with the requisi-
tions of this act shall be fined in the sum of one hun-
dred dollars to be recoverable before any court of re-
cord; one half thereof to the use of the informer and
the other half to the use of the county.

AN ACT

Establishing a ferry over the river Suwatificy
Be it enacted by ithe Governor and Leghlative Coun-
eil oirthe Territory of Florida, rhat Reuben Charles
be, and he .is hereby vested with all' the right, and
charged with all the duties of establishing and keep-
ing.a ferry at the river Suwanney, at the point of in-
tersection of the main road, which now Is, or may
hereafter be established, and leading from Tallahassee
to Picolata, and the said Reuben Charles, his heirs,
executors, administrators, and assigns be and remain
for the term of ten years vested and charged with the
rights and duties aforesaid.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That it shall bp un-
lawful for any other person or persons to establish' or
keep.a ferry within five miles of the ferry by this act
provided for, unless the same shall be for his, her, or
their own exclusive use, and not 'for the purpose of
gathering or receiving toll.
