AN ACT
To provide for levying a Poll Tax.
Be it enacted by the Gowrrnor and Legialative Coun-
cil of'the Trriary q/ Florida, That from itnd after tile
first day UNJaliary, which %ill be iN tile year one thou-
stid eight Imndred and twenty-four,' there shall be le-

white males and inhabitant of this territory, who shall be of the age of
shes        twenty one years and upwards, and upon each and e-

paid by the. owner of such slave or slaves.

duty of every free male inhabitant of this territory who
,hall be subject to Uaation under the provisions of this
