58. Be itfurther enacted, That the Governor of this
Territory hIn authorized to offer a reward nut exceeding
two hundred dollars, for the apprchension of absconding
felons, in capital cases ; and the Gu.vernor shall be au-
thorized to diaiw upon the Territorial treasurer for the
above sums, whei necessary to le paid f-)r their rewards.
59. le It further enacted, That, all officers w'ho are re-
quired by law to take an oath or give bund ('or the faithful
performance of the duties thereof, upon failure shall ble
fined at the discretion of the court-and if lie presumes to
exercise the duties thereni'; without the prerequisites, he
shall i subject to the same'penalty-and it shall be the
duty of the several courts of criminal jurisdiction, to give
this act in charge to the Grand Jury.
