CHAPTER. DXXV.
AN ACT to, .revent the hauling of Scinee longer than tioenfy
Fathome in the Salt and Fresh Pond in Baltimore Hundred,
Sesex County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Setate and  ou8 of .fepre-
Drawing or  sentatives of the State qf Delawvare, in Grener2al Assembly met,
longer     That from and after the passing of this act, no person or persons
t   dwenty.fathome shall haul or draw a seine or seines connected in any manner,,or
tLoreHundred, a nt or nets connected longer than twenty fathoms, in either the
probib   salt or fresh ponds in Baltimore Hundred, Sussex County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any person or pey-
sons, after the passing of this act, haul or draw a seine or seines
connected in any manner, in the salt or fresh ponds, or either of
them, every such person so offending shall, for every such offence,
renalty, $2o.o. f6rfeit. and pay the sum of twenty dollars, to be. recovered, with
cost of suit, before any justice of the peace for Sussex Count;
in the same manner that debts not exceeding one hundred dollars
are now recoverable by law; and the said sum of twenty dollars
now appled.  shall be applied the one-half thereof to the use of the persont or
p ersons sueing for the same, and the other half thereof to.School
District No. 28, in Sussex County; and it shall be a part of every
such judgment that the said seine or seines, or net or nets com-
Nets or seies to plained of, shall be destroyed; and a separate warrant shall be
be destroyet. issued by such justice of the peace aforesaid, to be directed to
any constable of the said county, to cause such seine or seines,
or not or nets, to be destroyed; and such warrant shall le suffi-
cient authority for so doing.
