Joint Resolution directipg payment of certain money to Daniel Ste.
venson, (negro.)
Resolved by the Senate. and House of Representatives of the
State TreA- State of Delau-are, in General .issemby net, That the State Trca-
surer to pay surer be, and he is hereby authorized and required to pay to the or-
sumofrmoney der of Daniel Stevenson, (negro) of New Castle County, such sum
toDanielSte- of money as has been or may be paid into the treasury of tfie State
venson, ne-
by the Sheriffof said County on account of the fine imposed by
fo.      sentence of the Court of General Sessions of the Peace and Gaol
Delivery in and for said county, at the May term thereof, 1851,
upon a certain John Davis, (free negro) upon his conviction in said
court of having burglariously entered the house -of said Stevenson,
p the night time.

CHAPTER DCLXC.
Joint Resolution requesting ouit Senators and Representatives in
Congress to aid in procuring appropriations for the Delaware
River and Bay.
WHEIEAS, fIom the severity of the weather during the present
winter, it has been demonstrated that additional safeguards are ne-
amble. cessary for the protection of the valuable and increasing commerce
of the Delaware River and Bay, and that this protection is de-
manded not only on the score of humanity towards our enter
prising seamen; but of sound discretion as regards the revenue of
the United States and the property of our merchants.
