CHAPTER CLIV.
AN ACT to authorize Isaac P. Walker, to remove a certain slave
therein mentioned,from this State, into the State of Maryland.

Passed at Dover, January 10, 1839.
CHAPTER CLV.
AN ACT to encourage the growth and reeling of silk within this
State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the Senate and House of Represen-
tatives of the State of Delaware in General dssembly met, That from
and after the passage of this act, whenever any person or persons,
individually or collectively, shall raise any silk within this State, he,
she, or they shall be entitled to draw from the State Treasury a
pre-nium of fifleen cents for each and every pound of cocoons so by P u
him, her, or then raised, and the further premium of fifty cents per Premnnd
pound, for each and every pound of merchantable raw silk by him, reeled silk.

sons, so claining the premium aforesaid, shall first exhibit the co-
corns raised, and the silk reeled as aforesaid, to one justice of the
peace of the proper county where they shall have been raised, and
the said justice of the peace shall thereupon examine the person or
persons claiming the premium as aforesaid, upon his, her or their
oath or afirnation, and shall require the person, so claiming the ing to make
preniu n, to swe.lr or alir n that the cocoons were raised in the oath &c., be-

person; and also in relation to such other facts, matters or things
as is or nay be in their opinion connected with the raising or reel-
