CHAPTER ing, or on any land in his, her, or their possession,
c!rdn. every person so offending shall be deened guilty of
1829.   a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall
forfeit and pay to the state, a fine not less than fifty
dollars nor exceeding one hundred dollars.
Sjc'oN 3. .dnd be it further enacted, That
this act shall commence and be in force from. and af-
ter the first day of May next.

Licenses to ex.  SECTION  1. Be it enacted by the Senate
port or import and House of Representatives of the State of
slaves;   Delaware in General .Rssembly met, That the Su-

power to grant licenses to the owner or owners of
any negro or mulatto slave, to export the same to:
the State of Maryland, or to bring the same into
this state therefrom, upon such conditions, as may
be deemed proper, and whenever, in the opinion of
the court, the facts and circumstances set forth in
the petition therefor, will justify granting such li-
censes; and every license granted as aforesaid, shall
