raising the means necessary to pay the interest on the
foreign debt of the State.

To require the salt commissioner to make luarterly re-
ports, and to increase the comnensation of the State
salt commissioner.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and ffouse of Rep-
resentatives of the State of Alabama in General Assembly
convened, That from and after the passage of this act, To make quar.
the salt commissioner of the State shall make quarterly terly reports.

eral.Assembly, of the operations and condition of his de-
partment.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That from and after the
approval of this act, the compensatiou of the superin-
tendent of the Stato salt works, shall be three thousand ti0 ncreased
dollars per annum, instead of the compensation now 4l- to s,oo..
lowed by law.
