To increase the capital stock of the Selma Insurance and
Trust Company, and the Planter's and Merchant's In-
surance Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and 1Iouse of Rep-
resenlative, of the State of Altia a iii General A.s'emhly
convened, That the President and Directors of the Plant-%petn nok in
ers and Merchants insurance Company in Selma, and the'
President and Directors of the Selma Insurance and
Trust Company, and onch of them be, aud they are by
tli act authorized and empowered to increase the capi-
tal stock of their respective companies by additional
sibcription to the sum of six hundred thonsand dol-
lars, to be subscrihed and pald in suich manner as they
by their respective boards of directors inay prescribe.

convened, That a company is lierchY incorporated for th wrlr
purpose of transacting a general Insurance hisiness, in
the city'- of Mobile, under the name and gtyle of the
Factors and Grocers' Marine and Fire Insurance Com-
pany.
Sec. 2. Be it ifurther enacted, That, the said company
shall have p'owor to sue and be sueh, to have a coonln m 'w,
seal, and to chanige or alter tle same it pleasure, to hlol,
purchase, conve y an d dispose of all kinds of estates, real
and personal, to receive and accept agencies, to appoint
such subordinate alliers and agents as in the opinion of
the directors, the business of the conpunY requires, pre-
scribe their duties, and fix their comcipensation. To minak
by-laws not inconsistent with the existingr laws of thi
State or of the Confederate States, for the transfer ;) its
