[No. 270.]          AN   ACT
To pay certain claims against the State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and HOu9e
of Representatives of the State of Alabama in Gene-
ral Assembly convened, That the following sums of
money be, and the same are hereby-appropriated
to the payment of the following persons: To Ed-
mund Reeves, for feeding prisoners confined in thenOev
jail of Jackson county, in the year 1855, seventy-
three dollars and eighty cents.
To Greene T. Horton, for feeding Robert W. norton.
Leveat, in the jail of Fayette county, and carrying
him to Houston, in Hancock county in the year
1855, seventy-nine dollars and fifty-three cents.
To Martin Btrton, for making thirty-seven Barton.
frames to illuminate the capital on the 18th Jan-
nary, 1856.
To W. B. Padgett, for the hire of two servants Padgott.
on the 8th January, 1856.
To Scaborn H. Jones, for arresting William Jones.
Haf, in Tennessee, on a requisition o? the Gov-
ernor of Alabama, and delivering him to the jailor
in Jackson county, seventy dollars and forty cents.
To W. B. and A. R. Bell, for stationery and W. B.&A. U.
other articles furnished for the use of the General BelL
Assembly and the different officers at the capitol,
nine hundred and fourteen dollars and fifty-six
cents.
SEc. 2. Be it further enacted, That the Comp-
troller of Public Accounts, be, and he is hereby
authorized and required to draw his warrant on the
Treasurer in favor of each person named in the
first section of this act, for the respective amounts
therein allowed to be paid out of any money in the
Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
