lected as soon as possible and paid into the trelsury for the
use of said. township: Provided, 'That whein the amount
above specified shall be paid to the trustees of said college,
the trustees of the township shall return to the 'comptroller
the certificate of stock heretofore issued! 'osaid township:
And provided/jkrther, That if the State of Alabama should
change the rate of interest allowed on the sixteenth section
funds, this loan shall in all respects conform to said change.

To iegulate the system of Public Schools in the county of
Mobile.
SECTIox 1. 1Be it enacted by the 18ae and foufe of Rep-
resentatives of the State of Alabama- in General Assemby con-
venedl That all laws aid parts of laws relating to the estab-
lishinent and organization and revenue of the board, of
epearea.  Mobile school commissioners in the county of Mobile,
excepting only the act entitled  an act to amen the laws
regulating the board of Mobile county cornisiiners,
appi6ved February -9th, 1852, and the act.efiitld. an act
to change the mode of receiving and disbpig the revenue
of Mobile county, and for other -purposes, approved, Feb-
ruary 9, 1852, be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SEc. 2. Be it jifrther enacted, That the board of Mobile
school commissioners as now organised and existing, and
their successors under the operation of the said acts, shall
ceonei. have power and authority to establish and regulate a System
of piblic schools in-said county, and to devise, put in force
and execute such plans for the increase of knowledge, edu-
cating -youth and promoting the cause of legrning-in said
county 4 to them may appear expedient and all lands,
grants a? -immunities already conferred; om which may
hereafter  .conferred upon the inhabitauit&of said.county,
or any city, town or township therein, for purposes of edu-
