so drawn, either.porsonally or'by leaving written notices at their
usual place of abode, to attend accordingly; and the following
oath shall be administered to the jury, by a justice of the peace,
Cath of jurors. before any case is submitted to thoin, viz: You, and each of you
do solemnly swear (or allirm, as the case may be) that you will
well and truly try all issues which shall be left to your decision by
the court, during this day, and u true verdict give, according to
the evidence, so help you God; and the following fees shall b3
allowed for the services herein directed to he performed, to be
paid by the party cast in his suit, and be taxed in the bill of cost;
Fees to jury and t the justico for drawing the jury, making out the venire facias
offcrs..     and sitting on each case, fifty cents; to the onstable for sum-'
inoning the jury, returning the veniro fucias, and attending the
trial, fifty cents; to the justice for issuing each summons for the
witnesses, antd the witneses for attending, and tho constable for
summoning the same, the same fren as are now allowed by laNs
for such services in a justices court,

AN ACT

To establish Justices' Courts itt the county of Marioni.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Reper-
sentatives of the State oj'Alabama, in General Assembly convened.
rto bto. hld That the Justices of the Peace in the county of Marion
once a ,nth.  shall meet atthe place of mustering, in each and every
beat in said county, and shall hold a court once a month,
to be holden on a day to suit the -convenience of said jus-
tices of the peace.'
Nhy ho held by  Sec. e. And be itfurther enacted, That if one of said
nle juitice.  justices should fail to attend any of said courts, then,tand in
that case, one of the justices of the peace shall have power
