To emancipate slave, Gertrude.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of Alabama in General A4ssembl
convened, That in consideration of the faithful and meritorious
services of said slave, Gertrude, as set foith in the petition of
(iGertrude
Julio Allain, her owner, the said Gertrude is hereby emanci-
pated, and set free, saving the rights of creditors and others:
.4nd provided, that the said Julio Allain shall first file her
bond with security in the penalty of two hundred dollars; the
said band to be payable to the Judge of the County Court of
Mobile county,-and his successors in office, to be filed in said
office, and conditioned for the payment of all necessary expen-
ses in case, tho said slave should hereafter become a county
charge.

To prevent the Judges of the Circuit and County Courts from
giving and signing Bills of Exceptions in vacation.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State qf.labana in General .dssenbly
convened, That hereafter it shall not be lawful for any of the
Judges of the Circuit or County Courts to give or sign bills of What time
exceptions, after the adjournment of the Court at which they rftY be sign.
may preside, and at which the exception may be taken :
Provided, however, by the consent of counsel reduced to writ-
ing, a longer time may be allowed, not to extend beyond ten
days frbm the adjournment of said Court.
Sec. 2. .1nd be it /irther enacted, That it shall be the duty
of each Judge of the Circuit and County Courts when they
sign a bill-of exceptions, to add thereto the correct date of such
signing.
