To extend the time for the removal of certain slaves, emanci.
pated, by the decree of the County Court, of Clarke County;
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives qf the State qf Aflabama, in General vdsem-
convened, That Cecily, Mary, Squire, Pena, and David, eman- mnval xtien-
cipated by a decree of the County Court of Clarke County, dod.
at a term of said Court held on the twentieth of April, eigh.
teen hundred and forty-two, on the application of Thomas Ry-
ley, be, and they are hereby authorized and permitted to re-
main in the State of Alabama, until the first of January, eigh-
teen hundred and fifty, from the passage of this act, without
incurring the penalties to which emancipated slaves are sub-
jected, by an act, entitled an act, to authorize the Judges of the
County Court to emancipate slaves, passed, January seventh,
eighteen hundred and thirty-four: Provided, that said slaves
shall not be removed from Clarke county to any other county
in this State.

[No. 233.],           AN ACT
To change the name of a certain person therein named.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House qf Re.
presentatives of the State of .Wlabama in General Asenbl3
convened, That the name of James C. Ilooper, of Do Kalb Hooper to
county, be, and the same is hereby changed to James H. Camp. CmnipbelI
bell, and by the latter name he shall always be designated and
known.

To change the name of Benjamin D. Horton, of Madison
County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and Hlouse of Re-
presentatives 4J the State of Alabama, in General Assem-
bly convened, That from and after the passage of this act,
the natne of Benjamin D. Horton, of the County of Madison, Horton to
be, and the same is hereby changed to that of Benjamin D. Orifid.
