Authorizing the Commissioners of the Sixteenth Section,
'Towtnship thirteei, Range one, West, in the Demopolis
District, to rescind a contract therein described.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the .Senale and House of Rep-
resentalives </ the Stte oif ilabama in General ./isembly
convened, That the duly elected Commtissioners of the six-
uner an teenth section, in township thirteen, range one, went, in the
bo Icacinded. County of Washington, be, and they are hereby authorized,
if in their opinion it be expedient for the interest of the town-
ship to rescind the contract of sale, of five hundred acres
of said section heretofore made to Robertus Love, now deceas-
ed -Provided, that the heirs at law of tile said Robertus Love,
I'riviso.  assent to the same, and that said Connuissioners are hereby
unthorized upon tl! rescinding of such contract, to surrender
to the legal represetatives of the said Love, the notes execti-
ind by him in consideration of said purchase : Provided,ethat
no lfrt of the purclhase money Shull be returned o the first
pulrclasers, their administrators, execttors, heirs, or assigns
.*ed provided fucthr, iat a  wtittjority of all the qualified
(electors of said township, us wll as the heirs of said Love,
.,hall first assent, ill writing, to such rescission (if said contract,
which writing shall be filed and recorded in the office of the
Clerk of the Court of said county.

To authorize Edward Cuiiinglam to be and remain in the
Slate of Ahbuma.
Section 1. Ile it enatted ly the Nen ate and House of Re-
presventatives of the tale (f *l/ubarma, in General .s4sevn-
y conve'ned, That Edward Cunningham, a colored man, be-
ing and residing in Pony County, is hereby exempt from the
provisions of law requiring etimancipated slaves to remove
from the State and not to returtn therein, but that. he may to-
main in the State of Alabama : Provided, that the said Ed-
ward Cunningham bo confined to Perry and Marengo coun-
tits.
