For the relief of Joseph Lowry and others.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate ond House of Rep-
resentatives of the State of .Alabana in General Assembly
convened, That the commissioners of the sixteenth section,
township nineteen, range two, cast, he, and they are hereby au-
thorized and required to pay to those citizens residing in Sumter
county, who sent to school in said township, for the year one
thousand eight hundred and forly-one, to Joseph Lowry, that
portion of the proceeds arising from the sale of said sixteenth
section, to which they were entitled for the benefit of said Lowry,
in the same manner as if the said Lowry had been examined and
received as a teacher according to act of Assembly, upon the
presenting of proper certificates of such set vices having been
rendered by said Lowry,tny law to the contrdry notwithstanding.

ce)tibie of equitable divisions of value anl of ready sale, on
heing saisfiled of the truth thereof, shall order the sale of said
lands, which shall take plae, and be regua[ted by tie laws now
in force relative to lands sold to effect an equitable distribution.
Svc. 2. Jh I be it further enacted, That said .Jud ge may, and he
is het eby authorize I to grant authority to said Benjamin Wyche Fund toe
WalkIer to vest the funds arising from said sale in other lands,vestd.
and in slaves, for the use of his said wards.
Sec. 3. .A1nd be it further enacted, That the said real and
peisoial estate, so purchased by said Bnjamin Wyche Walker,
shall be returned to the Judge of the County Court of Lowndes  dian
county, for the proper guardianship over which, said Walker
shall give such bond as the said Judge may think is proper to
require.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, ThAt the provisions of this
act be, and the saute are hereby extended to the Judge of the larequ.
County Court of Marengo county, to authorize him to direct the
sale of a certain tract of land, the property of the heirs of Hen
ley Drummond, deceased, lying near the University of Alabama.
