See. G. A~nd be it ful ther enacted, That the said Society
shall be required to carry into effect, such ordinances as the Board of
corporation of the city of Mobile may adopt in regard to it- IIhank
to organize a Board of Health, and procure necessary informa-
tion and advice upon the subject of the health of the city, and
the precautionary measures necessary to preserve the same.
Sec. 7. Ind be it further enacted, That this act shall re-
main in force ton years from its passage, and may be altered,
modified or repealed during that time.
Sec. 8. /nd be it further enacted, That all laws and parts Repeate

same are hereby repealed, so far as they conflict with the
same: Provided, however, this act shall in no wise affect or Proi.

To incorporate the Town of Clayton, Barbour county, Ala.
Section 1. Be it enacted by/ the Senate and House of Rep.
resentatives of the S/ate of Alauama, in General ./lssenbly
convened, That the town of Clayton, in the county of lBar- nBdy corpa-
bour, be, and the same is hereby incorporated ; and the bounds rat.
of said corporation shall be as follows: extending a quarter of
a mile from the court house each way, and to extend on the
street running north as far as will include the residence of
James Claike.
See. 2. and be it further enacted, That an election shall
be held at the court house on the first Monday in March, and
annually thereafter, the polls to be opened at twelve o'clock
in the evening for the purpose of clecting by hallot five coun- Elction of
cillors, inhabitants of said town, who shall serve for one year councilor.

be managed by .ohn Ledbetter, Noah Wheeler and Alfred
Elmore ; and all subsequent elections shall be managed by two
of the councillors, to be appointcd by the intendant for that
purpose ; and the said councillors shall, on the next day after
cach election in each year, by a majority of the votes of their
own body, clect one of the said coucillors as intendant, whose
duty it shall be to preside and keep order at all meetings of
said councillors ; and in his absence, any other member may
be called to the chair. And the said intendant and council
shall be, and they are hereby constituted a body corporate, by
he name and style of the Intendant and Council of the town OfNnme and
Clayton, and by that name they and their successors in oflice styl.
