To explain an Act, entitled an Act to appoint Aduministratore in certain cases.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen.-
tatives of the State of 1labama, in General.lissenbly convened,
Act explained That the aforesaid act shall not be so construed as to prevent
the judges of the several county courts, from granting letters of
administration on the estates of deceased persons, to the sheriff or
coroner of the county, cx officio, under the provisions of the sever-
al laws existing previous to the passage of the act, of which this
act is explanatory.
Approved, January 2, 1841.

Concerning County Court Judges.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House qf Represen-
fativer qf the State of ./Jlabama, in General .ssembly convened.
AUloied to ' hat hereaftcr judges of the county courts of this State, who have,
practice, to en regularly licensed to practice law, be allowed to practice in
the scveral counties of this State: Provided, that they shall not
Vroviso.  be engaged directly or indirectly, in any cause which may have
been tried or determined before them : .ndprovidedfurther, that
rower.   they shall not be absent at the time of holding any court, or oni
any return day, required by law, for them to hold or appoint.

[No. 45.]                 AN ACT
For Ibo relief of Alexander B. Puryear, of Monroe County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the State of W'labama, in General .Issembly, con-
vened, That the Comptroller of Public Accounts be, and he is
hereby authorized and required to issue his warrant on the Trea-
surer, in favor of Alexander 13. Puryear, for the following suns.
A n ruryear.viz: for the sum of six hundred and seventy-five dollars, being
one half of the assessed value of a man slave, by the iname of
Dave; also, the sum of four hundred and twenty-five dollars, being
one half of the assessed value of a man slave, by the name at
Morris, both being executed by the direction of law.
