Section 1. Be it enactpd by the Senate and IHouse of Repreetatives of

of Clarke, shall be entitled to receive as compensation for their ser-
vices, two dollars and fifty cents per day, instead of the per diem
pay, which is now allowed by law, and the mileage now allowed by
law, any law, usage, or custom, to the contrary notwithstanding.

To tax Suits at Law, in the County of Washington, and for other purposes.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the Stole of Alabama in General Assembly convened, 'That there shall be L.
tax of two dollars imposed on all suits at law, hereafter' commenced Tax on ,uhtr.
or instituted in the Circuit Court of the County of Washington, or Judie, &c.
taken to said court by appeal or otherwise, to be taxed by the Clerk
in the bill of costs  and when collected, to be paid over to the
County Treasurer for the use of said county.
Sec. 2. Andbe itfurther enacled, That the Judge of the Coun.

Sec. 3. And be itfurther enacted, That the Clerk of the Coun-
ty Court of said County of Washington, shall receive the sumi of Clerk's fees.

Sec. 4. And be it furt/her enacted, That all lvaws and parts of
