ident and Directors of said Branch Bank, forthwith to declare the
same due, and to proceed to the collection thereof.

No. 50.                    AN ACT
To nuthorlse the sale of Sieve in the town of Demopolis.

Imojiols.  That from and after the passage of this act it may and shall be lawful
for the sheriff, coroner, or any constable of the county of Marengo,
Provisq.  who may have taken in execution any slave or slaves in said county,
to sell the same at the town of Demopolis; Provided, that the debtor
from whom such slave or slaves may be taken, shall consent to the
same being sold in said town of Demopolis: any law to the contrary
notwithstanding.                    Approved, Jan. 31, 1839.
No. 51.                  AN ACT
To increase the pay of Jurors lathe eunty of Jackson.
SJeiConco   Section 1. He it enacted by the Seaite and House /' Representative s of
irors re.dve thea State of Alabama in General Assembly convened, That from and after
$t io-m1 Al. the passage of this act, the jurors for the county of Jackson, who may
bayle w.o er be drawn and serve on the regular panel of grand or petit jurors,
shall be entitled to receive as compensation for their services, one
dollar and lifty cents per (lay, instead of the per diem pay, that is
now allowed by law; and in the county of Mobile to Iwo dollars and
fifty cents per day, any law or usage to the contrary notwithstand-
ing.
Hlow paid.  Sec. 2. And le it further enacted, That the tax-fee now al-
lowed on each suit in the circuit court for the use of eaid county,
shall be set apart by the county treasurer for the payment of the ju-
rors that shall hereafter serve as grand or rctitjrors; and if said tax
fee should not be sufficient to pay offsaid jurtors, it shall be the duty
ofsaid treasurer to pay them out of any money in the treasury not
otherwise appropriated.              Approved, Feb. 1, 1839.
No. 52.                    AN ACT
To raise a revenue for the county of Unle, and reputitte the compensation allowed to
the clerks and shetrof said county for ex oficia services.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of R7rescn-
tatives of the State of Alabama, in General Assembly convened,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall be the duty of
the Judge of the county court for the county of Dale, together with
