Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and Hlpusj ] d) epre e -
tatives of the $'tate qf Al ampa in Gene til Aseinbly, cohvevd,
That Captain John Grumles, Lieutenant Oimaod T. j6ne' and Ii- Incorporfte
sign Drury Ross, and their associates in haid vohrnteer c6mpany, of
the county of Dallas, be, and they are hereby incorporated under the
name and style of the Dallas Riflenen, with power to pass such by-
laws for the govermient of said company as may be deemed necessary,
and not contrary to the laws of the State.
See. 2. And be it fUrther en'acted, 'That the said company shall
constitute a part of, and beoqg to the forty-first relgiment? seventh Attached to
brigade, sixth division of Alabama militia, and shall be exempt flrop 41st reginei
all militia duty except regimental musters: Provided, said conpany
shall have at least four company musters in each year
See. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Governov' shall be,
and he is hereby authofized to flni sl aid c umpany with, arms ai% Arms to be
other suitable accoutrements froi the public armory: Provide, pro- furnished
per bond and security shall be given for the safe keeping and return
of said arms and accoutrements.   Approved, December' 23, 1837.

Making appropdati6it for the payment of claims against the State.
Section i' Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represewa
talires of the State of dwhama in. General Assemyhly convened;
That the following sums of money, be, ahd ae hereby appropriated
to the paymert of the persdns hereiy named for the objeats speik-f-
ed, to wit: to Charles S. Pattison, the sum of thirteeen dollas and Approprn-
seventy-five cents, for cahdles;-d J. Lacy & Co. th isum of one tol-
lat and seventy-five cents, for stationeryz to D. Woodruff, the snm
of seven dollars and hinety-four cents, for stationery; to John Ta-
tum, the sum of eighty-five dollars and seventy-five cenlts, for Servant
hire; to A. Lynch, the sum of forty four dollars and twelve. cents,
for a book case, hanging Venitian blinds to windows of the State
capitol, and other services; to Battle & Miller, the sum of three dol-
lars arhd seventy-five cents, for brooms, &c.; to Cmmings, Pitcher,&
Co. the sum of sixteen dollars and seventy-five cents, for shovels and
tongs, and other articles for State capitol; to Merriman Pounds, the
sum of three hundred and ninety-eight dollars and ten cents, for 'fuel,
to Jesse Hallman, the sum of six dollars for fuel; to James Fh&gasf,
the sum of one.hundred and  ixty-two dollars and eighty'-sevetrcents,
for crape, stationery and other articles; and to Augusti-e Lynch, the
Saim of one hindred and forty-eight dollars- and seventy-five cents,
for incidental expenses for burying the Hon. Duriklin Sul-livan, put-
ting locks on members desks, and for other services; also to James
Hogan, Sixteen dollars anditwenty-dive cents far stationerV.
See.2. And be itfirther enceted, That the following sums of
money, be, and the same are herebyvst apart out of any money an
the treasury not otherwise appropriated for the paymhent of certainl ifi,
dividuals hereinafter named, for futnishing provisions for personseen-
lined in the jaits'f their respective counties, apid fdr removing priot-
ers by order of cour, towitt to Lewis utningham, sheriff of St.Clair
