[No. 8.)                 AN ACT
To permit the sellingof Beer and Cider.
Section 1. he it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of dlabana in General Assenbly
convened, That from and after the passage of this act, it shall
be lawful for any free white person of this State, to sell una-
dulterated eider or Beer in any quantity they may think pro-
per, free of any taxation, any law, usage, or custom to the con-
trary notwithstanding. Provided, That none shall be sold in
one nifle of any camp meeting or association without special
leavo from the managers of*vaid meeting.

[No. 9.1                 AN ACT
To authorize the Bank ofrthe State of Aabama and its several Branches to issue
Post Notes.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of Alabama in General assembly
now Post convened, That it shall be lawful for the President and Direc-
notes moay be tors of the Bank of the State of Alabama, and the President
and Directors of the several Branches of said Bank, each, to is-
sue post notes not to exceed one half of their paper, made pay-
ble at such places as they may deem expedient. Provided how-
ever, That said notes shall be drawn payable to some person or
persons, and shall not have longer to run than ninety days. Pro-
vided also, That no interest shall accrue upon said notes until
after payment has been refused by the Bank at which the same
is made payable upon demand, in which event the holder shall
be entitled to the same interest and damages as is now provided
for by law on protested bills of exchange. Provided, That
the State Bank and the Branches at Montgomery and Decatur,
make one half of the post notes issued by authority of this act
payable at Boston, New York, Philadelphia or Baltimore.
Repealingfor.  Sec. 2. A.nd be iU furter enacted, That the law hereto-
mer law.   fore existing, which authorizes the Bank of the State of Alaba-
ma and its several Branches, to issue post notes, be, and the
same is hereby repealed.

[No. 10.1                 AN ACT
To authorizen Justice of the Peace to appoint Patrols.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re-
presentatives of the State of Aflabana in General Assembly
convened, That from and after the passage of this act, any jus-
tice of the peace within the bounds of any captain's company in
this State, when there is no captain, may regulate patrol detach-
ments, and by appointing to every such detachment a leader or
proper offeer, which said detachments shall consist of the same
number, be liable to the same penalties, and subject to the sime
