AN ACT
To authorize and provide for the liquidation of the Claims of Hiram P.
Cochraii.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the State of Alabama in General Assembly convened,
CountT, Court to That the court composed of tihe judge of the county court and
sl A      commissioners ofrevenue and roads of Tuscaloosa county, shall
have power and authority to examine, pass upon, and finally set-
tic all claims which Hiram P. Cochran, late sheril' of Tuscaloosa
county, may exhibit against the said county, according to the
rules of equity, and make payment to him of apy balance which
may be thus ascertained to be dinc, out of any nioney in the trea-
sury of said county not otherwise appropriated.

horo'.  ' That James Doran, of Jackson county, be, and he is hereby an-
e    rpae Lorium  thorized to (to thke effect at his discretion) emancipate and set
free, slaves of the following names, viz: Sally, Anna, Jack,
Catsy, Davy, Empline, Eliza, Jane, Nancy, Amanda, Jerry and
Provigo  Polly: Provided, he- shall previously convey to the judge of tihe
county court of said county, and his successors, six hunidred and
forty acres of land on which lie now resides, or lands equal in
value thereto, in trust forever, for the use of said slaves, as secn-
rity that they shall not become chargeable on any city, county or
town in this State.             Approved, January 20, 1832.
AN ACT
To authorize the Executors of Allen Riley, late of the County of Autan-
ga, to sell the Land which belonged to said decedent, and for other
Purposes.
Section 1. Bc it enacted by the Senate and House of Bepre-
sentatives oj the State of Ab.ama in General Assembly convened,
a        . That the executors of the estate of Allen Riley, late of Autauga
aifands   county, are hereby authorized to sell at public auction the land
which belonged to said Allen Riley at the time of his death, on
giving at least thirty days' notice by advertisement at three or
To give and to more public places in said county; and also, on giving hand and
sufficient security to the judge of' the county court of Autanga
county, conditioned to ftithfully account to the heirs of said Al-
len Riley for the proceeds ofsaid sales, when required.
Administrators  Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the administrators
and  one  ofSherrard Lewis, late ofConeculh county, deceased, be, and they
lain real estate are hereby authorized and empowered to sell and convey the real
estate of Sherrard Lewis, decensed, situate in the county of Co-
necuh, on giving thirty days' notice of tie time and place of said
Proviso  sale: Provided, they enter before said sale, into good and suf-
ficient bond to secure the rights of the heirs and creditors of said
estate.
