Be it enacted bU the Senate and Ifouse of Represen- tatives of the S'tate of Alabiama in General Assembly convened, That said Randle Jackson be, and he is hereby authorized to sell a certain negro man named Stephen, the property of his said ward, in such manner, and on such terms as he may deem best calculated to benefit his said ward. Sec. 2. Be itfurther enacted, That said guardian shall have authority to lay out the money arising from the sale of said slave, in the purchase of another slave or slaves, for his ward, if he deems it advisable to do so, for the best interest of said ward.
