AN ACT, to emnancipate certain slaves tel'ein nuied.
S:ic'rton 1. He it enacted by the Senate and House of Tipri
sentatives of the State of Alabamna. in General Assembly conven-
cd, That 'lhomnas Loyd, be, and he is hereby authorized andrho.ta
vinpowered to manuinit and set free certain slaves, to wit:- authorisedp
Amits Nancy, Jane and lartha, the property of the said cmancipate
Thomas Lovd, so soon as the said Thomas Loyd, shall have n4ny 'a1n17
execul 1d to the Judge of the County court of Conecul county, ta.
and his successors in ollice a hond with suflicient ecurity to
be appoveid of by the said Judge conditioned; thatthesaid bo
Aluves shall iiever become chargeable to the State of Alabama,
or aiy county or towi therein: Provided, that nothing here- Prori*
in cintained, shall be, so construed as to prejadice the credit-
or-i of 11he ail Thanas9 Loyd.

act of the Legislature of this Statepassed January the seventh
one thousand eight hundred and twenty-six entitled al act to
alter and aiend the several acts now in force in this State o
suppress the evil pract ice of duelling, the oath shall be so ad#
mniustered as to pitmit hini to swear that he has not violatea
anly of tle provisions of law now in force oi the subject of day
elling since the first day of January one thousand eight hun-
dred and twenty-eight.
SEC. 2. And le it further e teiled, That the said Bushrod
V. Dell be, and ho is hereby relieved from all and every dig-
qsualification imposed by tho existing laws now in force in this
i   omt o adujeni-duelling.
